2018 was a year of changes and progression. While mediatEUr continued to implement on-going projects and contracts, we were also part of the winning teams for the two key contracts on conflict prevention and mediation support to the EU: the Framework Contract supporting the EEAS and ERMES III. In addition, we were awarded a grant from the Robert Bosch foundation in Germany to work on dialogue mapping with Syrian refugees.

The project was successfully launched with funding from the Robert Bosch Stiftung and brought us to Lebanon and Jordan to map the perspectives of Syrian refugees in both contexts. 2019 also marked the beginning of mediatEUr’s strategic partnership with London-based Conciliation Resources, which we are looking forward to further consolidating in 2020.
Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) has signed a partnership contract to work with Pierre Yves Monette and Antje Herrberg to support ECOWAS in the prevention of electoral violence through training on mediation and facilitation within electoral contexts. FBA has delivered trainings in Nigeria, Mali and will deliver one in Guinea Bissau.
In 2021, mediatEUr became Conciliation Resources EU/mediatEUr.
We are delighted to have signed a four-year framework contract on conflict prevention and mediation support for the EU, for which we were chosen together with our partners from swisspeace, ESSEC IRENE, CITpax, ECDPM, and Search for Common Ground. We place importance on delivering more than 'just a service' by practicing quality control and knowledge management. We hope to assist in the creation of a community of practice with those working in the field.
The new Consortium of ERMES, under the lead of the College of Europe, has recently signed a FWC contract with the European Commission to support the European Union in providing mediation and dialogue support in situations of need, with the steer of the EEAS, PRISM/Mediation Support team.
Co-founder and CEO of mediatEUr of 11 years, Antje Herrberg, has resigned from her position as the chairwoman of the board and has been positively discharged of her role by the members of the organisation.
In her capacity as Gender Expert, mediatEUr’s Senior Executive Officer, Ms. Kathrin Quesada, took part in a High-Level Dialogue meeting between Syrian and Yemeni Women representatives from 4 to 5 December in Brussels.
For the second year in a row, mediatEUr held a one week intensive mediation training with 10 selected diplomats from the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Kathrin Quesada, member of the board and active member of mediatEUr, has been appointed as the Senior Executive Officer of mediatEUr. Kathrin, a trained lawyer and mediator, has substantial experience in Security Sector Reform and Women in Peace and Security issues.
