Women are rarely part of the decision-making in peace process – something that is considered an obstacle to successful conflict transformation. In this discussion paper, our Colombia and Philippines Programme Director Kristian Herbohlzheimer draws from precedents in the Muslim world as examples for better inclusion of Muslim women in the conflict resolution with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in the Philippines.

Colombian women’s collective launches ‘Pact for Peace’

A group of women from diverse sectors of Colombian society have launched a new peacebuilding initiative, the 'Ethical Pact for a Country in Peace'. The Pact calls on Colombian society, policymakers and the international community to support the ‘transformation’ of Colombian society to a peaceful one, by signing-up to fifteen actions.

She has a background in the humanitarian sector, working at The British Red Cross supporting health and social care programmes in Central Asia and carrying out deployment administration for ICRC delegates.
