Community Security Working Groups heal divides in southern Philippines

Our Public Empowerment and Community Engagement (PEaCE) for Good Governance project has been working with communities to establish a network of Community Security Working Groups. These groups are open to anyone in the community and provide people with the skills and tools to resolve conflicts and develop better engagement with local government.

Bill Marsh

Bill has mediated full-time since 1991 in a huge range of commercial, religious, ethnic and political disputes and conflicts involving governments, national and international businesses, factions, pressure groups and individuals from over 50 countries. He has also served as adviser on mediation/conflict resolution to many governments and global institutions, been retained by the UN, EU, DfID, UKFCO, EBRD, and others, and established and chaired international dialogues focused on conflict resolution and mediation for over 30 countries.

Bangsamoro Community Security Toolkit

The Toolkit for Community Security is a guide for developing and mobilizing Community Security activities in the Bangsamoro region, particularly in places experiencing human security challenges as a result of protracted armed conflicts and other forms of chronic violence. It is designed to be practice-focused but it also includes discussions on the foundational thinking and debates on Community Security discourse.

Litia Nailatikau

Litia is our Fiji and Solomon Islands Project Manager. She joined Conciliation Resources in 2021 as the Project Officer for the Pacific programme. In previous roles she has worked with the International Finance Corporation, the Fiji Film Industry and as an Assistant Language Teacher to the JET programme in Okinawa Japan. She holds a LLB and a Masters Degree in Diplomacy & International Relations and has a keen interest in Pacific history, indigenous holistic health and sevens rugby.
