Thomas Mark Turay is a Sierra Leonean and former director of Caritas Makeni and currently completing his doctoral programme at the University of Toronto. His research interests include peace education and social change, local capacity building and sustainable development.

Yasmin Jusu-Sheriff
Yasmin Jusu-Sheriff is a lawyer and women’s rights advocate. She was a prominent member of the women’s movement in Sierra Leone, and sits on the board of Femmes-Africa-Solidarité. She has held posts as Executive Secretary for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Sierra Leone, Sub-regional President and head of the Sierra Leone Chapter, Mano River Women’s Peace Network and Coordinator for the Network for the Promotion of African Principles of Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation.
Ismail Rashid
Ismail Rashid is from Sierra Leone and is assistant professor of History and African Studies at Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, New York. His research includes resistance against slavery and colonialism in West Africa, student and youth radicalism, conflict and peace. He has worked with Conciliation Resources as a consultant in West Africa.

Dr James A. Obita is a Ugandan working to try and bring peace to northern Uganda. He holds a PhD from the School of Industrial Chemistry, University of New South Wales, Australia.

Lansana Gberie
Lansana Gberie is a journalist and research associate of the Laurier Centre for Military Strategic and Disarmament Studies and a doctoral student at the University of Toronto. He covered the Sierra Leone war from 1991–1996 and attended the peace talks in Côte d'Ivoire in 1996.
