In this paper we draw out six practical lessons for the design and support of peacebuilding programmes that cater to the inclusion of diverse youth, drawing on examples from Conciliation Resources’ practice over recent years in South Asia, north-east Nigeria, the South Caucasus, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Democratic Republic of Congo, South
Sudan and the Central African Republic.
This study is part of a wider research programme, the Peace Research Partnership, looking at how to support peaceful and inclusive change, conducted with International Alert and Saferworld and supported by UK aid from the UK government. Find out more.
The lessons in this publication are based on youth peacebuilding programmes funded by donors over many years, in particular the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.
