Laura O'Connor
Laura O'Connor is a Programme Officer in our South Asia Programme. She was previously a Senior Programme Officer with Ottawa Dialogue, supporting research and dialogues in Palestine, Myanmar, India-Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Turtle Island/North America. Her work focused on nuclear and environmental conflict, as well as gender-inclusive peace processes. From 2021-2023, she was based in New Delhi as a Research Fellow with the Council for Strategic and Defence Research, largely focusing on non-traditional security and caste-related violence. Originally from Canada, she holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Ottawa and Master's degree from the University of Cambridge, where she looked at gender and nuclear politics in post-Soviet Central Asia. Her wider professional interests centre on gender-inclusive peace processes, anti-colonialism, nuclear conflict, and duty of care for peace professionals and facilitators. She speaks English, French and is studying Hindi.
