Lantana is currently leading a local women-focused organisation called Women for Positive Peacebuilding Initiative, and is the Director of Program of the Plateau State Peacebuilding Agency in Nigeria. Lantana has participated in many mediation efforts both locally and regionally, including facilitating mediation between pastoralists and farmers to respond to the incessant violent conflicts in the Middlebelt region. Lantana has served as a women mentor with UN Women and supported the formation of the Women Peace and Mediators Network in Nigeria. She is a 2018 African Fellow of the King Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue in Vienna.  Lantana is also a member of 'The Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators Nigeria'.

Lantana Bako Abdullahi is a member of Women Mediators across the Commonwealth (WMC), a network hosted by Conciliation Resources which connects women with a broad range of mediation knowledge and experience.
