Hannah Forster
Hannah Forster is a trained mediator and has over 17 years of experience in the field of conflict management. Hannah was involved in the design of and implementation of the African Transformative Justice Project which was a mediation and peacebuilding project within 4 communities in the Gambia. Recently she has been working on issues related to UNSCR 1325 in participation with the office of the African Union, as well as in collaboration with WANEP, Platforme des Femmes pour la Paix en Casamance (PFPC) and the Working Group on Women, Youth, Peace and Security in West Africa.
Hannah has served as a board member for the Justice and Peace Commission of the Gambia as well as a member of the Marriage Tribunal of the Gambia advocating for the institutionalisation of peace in various sectors of society. She also initiated and facilitated the formation of the Gender Action Team, a national advocacy and lobby group established during the popularisation and domestication of the African Charter of Human and Peoples’ Rights on the Rights of Women in Africa.
Hannah Forster is a member of Women Mediators across the Commonwealth (WMC), a network hosted by Conciliation Resources which connects women with a broad range of mediation knowledge and experience.
