Esther Hodges
Esther is a gender and inclusion expert with six years’ experience in the peacebuilding, humanitarian and development sectors.
Prior to joining Conciliation Resources, she was Head of the Gender and Inclusion Research Team at Bodhi Global Analysis, leading projects for UN agencies and INGOs including UNICEF, UN Women, UNFPA, Search for Common Ground, Oxfam, Mercy Corps and Save the Children. In that role, she led projects including the development of gender equality and social inclusion strategies for multiple INGOs and UN agencies in the Horn of Africa, gender analyses and assessments in Jordan, Iraq, Papua New Guinea and Liberia, and multiple situation analyses of child rights in the Philippines and Pakistan.
Esther previously worked for Save the Children UK, both in the CEO’s office and managing an initiative to find more effective ways of treating acute malnutrition in conflict settings. She holds an LLM in Human Rights from the University of Edinburgh, an MSc in International Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies, and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.
Esther has worked, led fieldwork and conducted gender-related training in countries including Greece, Ethiopia, Jordan, Kenya, Liberia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, South Sudan and Tanzania.
