Barbara Tanne has worked as the Bougainville programme support consultant with Conciliation Resources since 2017, based in Bougainville, she holds over 18 years of hands-on experience working with women, girls and communities in peacebuilding, leadership and mentoring. In her work, Barbara works with local Civil Society Organisations and the Autonomous Bougainville Government. 

Barbara has extensive experience working with CSOs in Bougainville. She is a member of the Women Mediators in the Commonwealth and facilitates Peacebuilding Analysis Dialogues and Education in communities across Bougainville. She currently holds the position of President of the Bougainville Women's Federation, a position she has carried out since September 2021. 

Her greatest accomplishments include the empowerment and mentoring of women and girls leadership and her work conducting peacebuilding dialogues and mediations in her communities. Barbara is also a strong community advocate against gender-based violence and conducts counselling in her community, referring people on for support from Nazareth Centre for Rehabilitation, the Buka Hospital Support Unit, and the Family Sexual Violence Unit at the Buka Police Station.
