As a UN Under-Secretary-General from 1986 to 1997, Sir Marrack Goulding was involved in the negotiation and implementation of peace settlements in Africa, the Middle East, Central America, Haiti, Cambodia, the former Soviet Union and Yugoslavia. He is currently Warden of St. Antony's College, Oxford.
