The voices of people most affected by the Lord's Resistance Army conflict are not always the loudest and their opinions on the conflict can go unheeded. Conciliation Resources's policy brief for the European Union – part of the People's Peacemaking Perspectives project with Saferworld – addresses this issue.
The People’s Peacemaking Perspectives project is a joint initiative between Conciliation Resources and Saferworld. It aims to provide European Union institutions with recommendations based on the opinions of local people.
This policy brief presents the conclusions of research carried out into the Lord's Resistance Army. These include, for example, that a holistic and coordinated response from regional and international actors is required and that civilian protection by national armies and the planned African Union Regional Intervention Force should be a priority and a precondition to EU support.
