Viewpoint: Ending wars peacefully just got harder

A June 2010 US Supreme Court decision confirmed that engagement with groups listed as 'terrorist' is illegal, even if this engagement is intended to end the violence.  

This recent decision has made peacebuilding work more risky, and yet the fact remains that if civilians are to be protected from violent conflicts then someone has to engage with the armed groups.
