The Fiji Young Women's Forum (FJYWF) is a space for young women leaders to articulate their needs and perspectives on Fiji’s political transition and strategise for moving Fiji forward.
On 17 September 2014 Fiji will hold its first national elections since the military coup of 2006. More than half of the electorate eligible to vote will be under the age of 35 and a quarter of the population will be first time voters. This video was produced by the FJYWF and shown at the July 2014 launch of My Guide To Voting, a publication created by and for young Fijians to inform and empower them about their rights and responsibilities as citizens.
Along with the Fiji Women's Rights Movement (FWRM), the co-conveners of the Forum are the Emerging Leaders Forum Alumni (ELFA), Generation Next (GenNext), the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) and Diverse Voices for Action (DIVA). The FJYWF project and My Guide To Voting were funded by the European Union Delegation in the Pacific.
